Home Inspection Information Sites |

***Disclaimer*** I have taken the time to find a number of sites that address issues that may arise in getting home inspections. Some of these sites offer information that is out of the scope of a home inspector. For instance, the House Detective delves into legal problems that can arise from bad home inspections or improper disclosure during a property sale. I want to make it clear that I'm not responsible for any of the content listed in any of the sites below. I provide them strictly for informational purposes. Feel free to browse them at your leisure as you see fit. I am particularly fond of the Home Inspection Nightmares section. There are some funny pictures and stories which are worth reading. They demonstrate the need for hiring a home inspector. |

I like that he addresses legalities which is something many reporters do not have the guts to do. If you decide to visit any home inspection sites then make it this one: |

Old House Web This site has a really good home inspection checklist for buyers or sellers who want to know what to look for in buying a house. This checklist will give you enough information to let you narrow down your choices until you find the right house. Once you find the right house then be sure to get a home inspector to validate your impressions. A checklist like this one is not an adequate replacement for a qualified home inspector. |
Youtube There are many good videos on Youtube about home inspection problems. This video is a good example. If you look to the right of it you will find some other good videos. The Buyer beware part 1 and 2 are both good videos showing the kind of problems you might expect. The most important thing to do when getting a home inspector is find one that is knowledgeable enough to spot the problems and honest enough to mention them. |
